What kind of emotion does this very word ignite in you? Difference?
Disability? Deformed? Well, stigmas around mental health have highly
affected the entire global workforce population. How many people
are unemployed after getting an excellent degree from a reputed
school and college? Such a form of frustration may lead to low self-esteem among people and also curbs the income flow.
Remember the old saying? “United we stand dived we fall ? “. I
believe that celebrating differences is really important if we have to
grow our job prospects and make the future a better place to live in for
generations to come. Creating opportunities for people without ostracising them will lead to the generation of new startups or a strong workforce that will eventually lead to the subsequent rise in the living standards of people globally.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO ADAPT THE NEW HIRING
As research has shown many people with neurological conditions
such as autism spectrum disorder and dyslexia poses exceptional skills
including pattern recognition, mathematics and memory. Despite
harnessing these skills, we tend to treat them like a disability. To
see growth in our economy, it is extremely necessary to create a
healthy work environment for people with disabilities.
WHAT AND WHY MEASURES SHOULD BE TAKEN BY THE COMPANY TO CREATE A HEALTHY WORK ENVIRONMENT FOR ALL?
Humans are the superior race, right? We have the brain that's what
makes us human. People with disabilities are very much the same as
us just that the symmetry of their brain is a bit different. Well, all
fingers in our hand aren't the same size? But it works just fine
with all of it together in it! A pretty amazing allegory for defining people in
the workforce! The list of measures the company can take is as
1. Companies should team up and work with government or nonprofits
experienced in working with people with disabilities.
2.Neurodiverse people tend to have issues with confidence and speaking
out aloud by using a non-interview assessment process we can
encourage people to come forward and apply for jobs.
3.Hiring a recruitment team should make the other workers aware and the manager what to expect.
4. Setting up a support group or by merely acknowledging their
5.Tailor and specialised methods for managing their career.
6.Scale the entire work.
7.Mainstream the program.
EXAMPLE FAMOUS PEOPLE WITH DISABILITY!
A Nobel Prize winner and the one and only world-famous scientist
Albert Einstein. Amazed? I know might be hard to take
for someone who thought differences are dangerous!
you can google this fact! The German-born physicist and a Nobel
laureate might have some difficulty in speech and recognition but that
didn’t stop him from inventing something absolutely new! His works
are still being studied and reviewed by scholars even today.
Such famous historical shreds of evidence secure the fact that if we have to
grow we have to be understanding and mutually develop
professionalism and a healthy work environment for all. Our democracy
stands on the grounds of liberty, equality and justice. Thus we should
move past the stigmas created against neurodiverse people.
Some examples of famous neurodiverse people are as follows -
*Whoopi Goldberg (dyslexia)
*Daniel Radcliffe (dyspraxia)
*Steven Spielberg (dyslexia)
*Justin Timberlake (ADHD)
*Tim Tebow (dyslexia)
